At Coze we work with the best duck breeders in the French Pyrenean Mountain regions to farm a down growing in reputation the world over for its outstanding quality. As a result, at Coze we only use Pyrenean duck down across all Coze pillows and duvets and we believe it to be the finest available globally. Down is the undercoating of light fluffy clusters closest to the skin of ducks. Three-dimensional, these down clusters act as insulation and are protected by the outer feathers. Down has a thermal quality that keeps the birds warm in the winter and this natural material combines comfort and longevity, making it ideal for storing warmth and providing protection from the cold climates. Down quality is motivated by two influencing factors, the age of the duck and the climate the ducks live in – the colder the better. Our down is also ethically produced and comes from ducks farmed for food as opposed to those raised for plucking.
The Tog rating measures the warming capabilities of a duvet - a scale of warmth and the higher the tog rating the warmer the duvet. Traditionally there are three seasonal tog ratings that should determine the duvet you use. 4.5 for the Summer, 9.5 for the Spring and 13.5 for the Winter months Our 4.5 and 9.5 tog Dechen duvet has a popper finishing and can fasten to create the highest quality all-season Coze winter duvet for the ultimate in luxury comfort and warmth.
We work exclusively with the very best goose and duck farms across the regions of Aquitaine, Pyrenees and Poitou to provide a “Made in France” quality with high standards of traceability, animal dignity and sustainability for the Coze brand.
At the end of a long process of washing, dusting and sterilisation, our feathers and down are constantly being tested to ensure the very best performance and quality. We do indeed have the Oeko-Tex certification which secures the non-presence of harmful substances while the eco-conception allows us to optimize the environmental impacts of our products at every level of the production line. All of our Goose Feather and down product carries the Downpass label to ensure Animal welfare is at the forefront. Our customers can be confident that absolutely no live plucking has been carried out in the production in any of our Feather Products.
Box stitching is synonymous with lower tog ratings and thinner duvets designed for the warmer, summer months. A gridded duvet where each segment is stitched closed and filled with our Pyrenean duck feather and down. The Baffle stitching keeps that gridded format open and is filled more abundantly with our Pyrenean duck down and feather for a higher tog rating and warmer, thicker duvet. At Coze all our 4.5 tog duvets are box-stitched and all 9 and 13.5 tog duvets are baffle stitched
A higher fill power does not mean a heavier pillow or duvet, it’s all about the quality of the down and the fluffier clusters found in our Pyrenean duck down mean ultimate warmth within a lightweight and airy comforter
All Coze pillows and duvets can be machine-washed. Remember to leave plenty of room for movement and wash on a 40-degree cycle.
Ensure that your products are sufficiently dry before returning to the bed to ensure they smell fresh
For best practice always store in a breathable cotton bag NEVER in plastic to avoid a build up of bacteria
Fluff your pillow and duvets when you make the bed, as the steady airflow will mean the down will continue to loft.
